Description
Setasilk is the silk paint in the Pébéo range, water-based. It can be used on different types of silk, such as twill, pongee, crepe de chine, crepe georgette, and silk damask. Setasilk colors are bright, intense and intermixable, and they are ready to use. The fluidity of Setasilk silk paint allows easy application and the achievement of rich, refined and luminous tones. The paint does not stiffen the silk and the fabric thus retains all its fluidity and suppleness. You can complete your purchase with the Setasilk lightening medium which allows you to create lighter tones. For silk painting, you can use different techniques such as setting with gutta, dusting salt technique, sun painting, or wax batik. If you opt for the setting technique, which is the technique most commonly used to paint on silk, we recommend that you also use Gutta Pébéo with water, to make the settings, i.e. to create borders to separate the colors in your design. The Setasilk colors are fixed by simply ironing and the silk will then be washable. To work on silk, it is advisable to stretch it on a frame or lay it on a fleece and fix it with an adhesive. This solution is particularly practical for certain supports such as ties. If you are getting into painting on silk, do not hesitate to also consult our sets including several colors and the material necessary to make your first creation. Setasilk is suitable for beginners and experienced amateurs. The water-based paint is of superior quality and offers quick drying in a few minutes in the open air.
